Description de produit

ASTM B171 C71500 Copper Nickel 70/30 Alloy Plate CuNi Sheet for Heat Exchanger

1. Product Description
Copper Nickel Plate is a wrought copper‑nickel‑iron‑manganese alloy plate with excellent resistance to flowing seawater and impingement attack. The two principal grades are C70600 (90% copper, 10% nickel) and C71500 (70% copper, 30% nickel). Both grades offer a unique combination of mechanical strength, ductility, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The material naturally develops a thin, tightly adherent oxide film that passivates the surface and prevents further corrosion. Copper nickel plates are produced by hot rolling and may be cold rolled to achieve tighter tolerances and improved surface finish. They are widely used in critical seawater handling equipment where long service life and low maintenance are required.

2. Product Applications

  • Naval & Commercial Vessels: Sea water cooling mains, firefighting systems, bilge and ballast piping, sonar domes.

  • Power Generation: Condenser plates and tube sheets for steam surface condensers, district heating exchangers.

  • Desalination: MSF brine heaters, evaporator chamber linings, deaerator plates.

  • Oil & Gas Production: Topside seawater lift pumps, injection water filters, deluge system components.

  • Industrial Equipment: Chemical tanker cargo piping, heat exchanger baffles, hydraulic line cladding.

3.Product Advantages

  • Proven resistance to impingement corrosion – Withstands high‑velocity seawater (up to 3.5 m/s for C70600, 4.5 m/s for C71500).

  • Excellent weldability – No preheating or post‑weld heat treatment needed; filler metals CuNi10Fe1Mn and CuNi30Fe2Mn2 available.

  • Good resistance to sulphide‑induced corrosion – Suitable for polluted brackish water with controlled H₂S levels.

  • High ductility (annealed) – Elongation typically 30–45% for C70600, enabling severe bends and flanges.

  • Low macro‑fouling tendency – Naturally reduces attachment of marine organisms without coatings.

  • Stable mechanical properties from cryogenic to 300°C – Retains toughness down to −200°C.

  • Fully traceable production – Each plate marked with heat number and certified to ASTM/ASME standards.
